Iran is embargoed by US, therefore the software is not available.
    Sorry.

As explained we are a US company and are bound by US trade and export laws.

I have not checked the download of the demo but I am pretty sure it is the same as the online store.

It is not possible to purchase from Iran in our web store.

It seems Windows 8 is also not supposed to be exported to Iran and the Windows 8 App Store is blocked from being accessed in that country.

I can't speak for GV, but as a software developer myself, I'm assuming that the development of new features has moved on to V6.5x and that the V6.0x code will only be touched for critical bug fixes (if at all).

Adding new features (including adding support for Windows 8) is very expensive in terms of development and QA time. It's bad enough when you're dealing with a simple application, but something that has realtime requirements and interacts with drivers needs to go through full regression testing to make sure you didn't break anything, and finally you need to submit your app to Microsoft for certification and signing, and those requirements have gotten more stringent with Windows 8.

Basically, I don't see it happening and I fully understand the reasoning behind it.

I think Rusty has a very good point here... make it easy for users going forward.... we are only talking Windows versions here and not Unix / Linux platforms. On another note I happen to like Win 8 there are a lot of performance improvements and it is the way forward. I would not shift production to Win 8 right now but will certainly look to move with the next system upgrade cycle all going well. Hats off to GV for getting a 6.5 release for Win 8 so soon.

    Best
    Dave.

This is in the same argument territory as why we don't have a MAC version.
It all comes down to resources. I would rather have 1 OS supported to the max, than have 5 OS's supported half a##ed.

I guess most users on the forum believe that there is an army of engineers just banging out code all day long. That is so far from the reality of it all.
