Win 7 screen issue

I'm a newbie/mumpty with Win 7- so I'm sure there's an easy answer!
I'm getting annoyed with the way the bottom menu of win 7 overlays the bottom of the timeline window, meaning I can't see the Edius info there. In particular, I'm used to watching the db indicator as I drag audio volume key-frames up and down. (I know there are other ways to get the info, but...)
Anyone else found this? Do I need to save a screen layout in Edius as default, that adjusts the bottom of the screen- or is there somewhere in win 7 that this is better adjusted?

There is a setting for auto hide of the task bar, which will work but if you drag the cursor too far it will pop up over the info.
The best bet is to drag the bottom of Edius window to butt up against the top of the taskbar. That way you can see the info and also your task bar.

Thanks :) I'll do that, and save it. Further question! Can I save it as the default (Normal) layout, so Edius always opens like that?.

Once you set it up just save it as a layout.

Yes. Just hoping there was an ability for it to become the default. Oh well, not a biggie :)

Save it as a Windows layout under View. but if you are in the same project, it should open to last used position.
