you need to buy 6.5 and then apply the 6.52 update
note that you will lose all free plugins that came with EDIUS6 and TmPro will also stop working

I have downloaded the Demo (V6.52) on Win 8 OS and activated it with my licence no. Version 6.0 from my original install CD bring an error on Win 8 during installation.---------------------------

I have test the trial of EDIUS 6.5 on my Laptop with Win 8 first. Then I decided to buy it (I'm new on EDIUS). My dealer send me a 6.0 Version CD and a Update CD to V 6.5. Installed it on my desktop PC on Win7 without problems. On my Laptop, I deinstalled the demo, because there are limitations maybe. Then I try to install V6 from install CD without luck. So I take the demo file 6.52, install it again, licenced it with my number and all run fine ....---------------------------

You do not need V6 installed to install V6.5. The trial version would work fine as you describe althogh you will not have all the DVD menu templates. The installer for 6.5 should be on the "upgrade" CD. After installing this you then need to put on the latest patch (6.52) as it is unlikely the full installer is a 6.52 installer.
Or you could just leave it working as it is now and live without the DVD templates.EDIUS silver certified trainer.
