WMP 11 will not open my .AVI Files

Hello,

I capture my files using DV capture using the Canopus .AVI codec.

After upgrading media player to version 11, the .AVI files will not open.

Earlier versions played the captured files just fine.

Any ideas or fixes?

No sorry can't think why that would be as I had WMP11 on my PC and Canopus files opened fine.
Are you getting any error message? Is it possible that WMP has unregistered one of the codecs?

It becomes non-responsive when I try to open a file.

I just tried a file I captured using 4.51c and it plays fine on WMP 11. It dose'nt look like it is a player or Canopus problem.

Try installing GSpot and open and analyze the AVI file using it. GSpot can also display a list of codecs on your system, and report problems with them.

I am still using 4.24 and might just wait until I install the next Edius update that fixes Imaginate and hope it solves the problem.
