4K Projects with EDIUS 6.52

EDIUS works fine with .R3D clips but export time is too slow.
Any idea to improve its speed. I currently use i7 3770 16GB RAM and pair of 240GB SS disk for 4K media.

However, It can't read mov file with REDCODE Stream type. It 's like footages from this site http://nonlinear.ru/index.php?/topic...d1%8c-red-45k/. Please advise how to convert to HQX CODEC.

Since RED can preview in low quality mode (1/16-1/2), what happen if other 4K mov or mxf files are used in a project. I will get sample clips from Canon EOS C500 for evaluation but can't imagine how to preview the clips in realtime without an extra process or conversion.

Edius will preview in 1/16th and 1/8th mode. 1/4 and higher is not real time.
If you are working in a 4k project setting, your best bet is to convert to HQX and work with those. I can get realtime with my 980x and 4k HQX 10bit files. Just right click on the file and choose convert. If you select multiples you can choose batch convert.
If you are using Red files, Premiere will do a better job at this time handling these files. They are also previewed at 1/2 resolution as default. The faster your video card the more RT you will get. A GTX690 would be very useful for someone
edting Red files.

Video card you recommended is for PPro or EDIUS.
As I know Video Card has no benefit for EDIUS if you don't use GPU effects, Right?

The card comes into play with all gpu effects....including
3rd party in Edius. Now if you are going to be editing Red files in Premiere, a substantial card is required. The 690 is
not on the CS6 list yet, but that doesn't
mean it can't be added manually.
