  • in out marker control

    Hi all
V6.07. When manipulating clips on the timeline I engage the in out markers somehow- it seems random . I don't know what I am doing to trigger them and I don't recall this in 5.51.

I am not pressing any keys and it seems to be triggered by the mouse but I'm not sure why. I do use the markers occasionally but I always select them from the menu. I am constantly having to clear the spurious ones. Is there a setting that will disable this apparent auto shortcut?
    Thanks

The in out area is set automatically if you highlight a clip and click the light gray ruler area above the timeline. It's handy if you get used to not setting it accidently.

You double click on the ruler accidentally, you must have quick lightning finger like me, I do that some time, x will remove it.

I also had this on one of my systems a while ago, after I swapped mouses it was confirmed a faulty left click on the wireless mouse, which triggered the in out pretty often.
After replacing with a new mouse no issues since, it wasn't even 2 years old, it was warn I guess.

            thanks all,
I do know the I, O, X controls and I'm pretty sure I wasn't double clicking on the grey scale, but I will now watch for that. I think Soundfreak's suggestion is certainly worth a mouse swap to check- sounds like it could the issue. I will report back.

            Thanks guys

You can change the speed of the left click mouse in windows if you are trigger happy, I had mine pretty high, but I don't mind accidentally do that once in a while, x solve it quick

Soundfreak, you win the virtual cigar and a bottle of the best virtual Sauvignon!!

Swapped Mice and problem is gone. So has another problem, which was, when dragging clips or effects, sometimes the windows would be dragged out of position without completing drag,n,drop op.

Mouse now located in file 13 just under the desk. It will squeak no more (it has squoken its last!!!)
                Cheers!
