When Edius reset all presets | why.

Hello,

what a sad day,

it s usual, one or two times every 6 months,

i doble clip on my edius icon,

it asks me where do i want my "edius default"

then i know it will be a bad day,

-preset settings out
-shortcuts out
-previews screens out
-effects out

i lost all my layout presets;im mad.

I had that happen recently, in my case due to drive corruption.

Something changed the power management configuration on my editing system so that Windows shuts down the hard drives after a period of inactivity, and that wound up pulling the plug on my SSD's internal garbage collection.

I hope you've been responsible and made backups. Restoring my system to a working state from an image on my NAS box was simple and fairly quick.

When did you do a new profile? I would save a clean profile on a separate drive. You can import that and see if it restores everything back to normal when you loose presets.

can you confirm that the correct EDIUS profile is selected at EDIUS startup

or is there only one?

and yes, I always export my profile after all settings are correct to another drive, I can then import it if ever it gets corrupted

im not sure to understand your question,

when the **** happened , the edius profile is empty,
it s a reset, i reload my shortcuts etc...but if im in a hurry (not these days)
it would be very very embarassing

in your EDIUS startup screen, at the top, do you see one profile icon or two, or more?

ouch, in that case you need to do all settings again

then when done, go to system settings and export it with right click to a save place

whenever I build a new PC for a customer, I import my profile and all settings are done

i did that one month ago when i moved to 6.07 to 6.5

but i dont remember where i put it and the name of the extension...

i could spend 100 years to resolve this question, i prefer spend 10 minutes to load the cue shortcuts and profil saves.

I take it there isn't a clone of the OS. If I was having loses like that I would either reclone the drive or do a clean install. If you use other drives for data you won't loose anything in the reinstall process.
