  • adding additional clips to a finished project in Edius4.5

I have a finished project 2 hours long. It has up to 4 lines of video tracks in some places and three lines of audio. I discovered I need to add another 5 minute clip in the middle. How do I add this clip and keep everythjing in sync?

Whand I try to add the clip on the timeline 1A everything (titles and audio) does not shift.

I guess that I could export the whole timeline (it would take 2 hours)
then cut it and put in the additional clip. However, it is edited in HDV and I need to now convert it to 4x3 SD for DVD production. This means that I have to go back and relocate the titles and that would be impossible with the exported timeline file.

    Thanks

I think I figured it out... I made a cut down through all the tracks in the sync mode turned on them added the clip. So far it seems to be OK.

      Thanks

        Next tme...

In the Bin create a new sequence (I name mine "Project")
Double-click to open the new sequence on the timeline.
Drag your original Sequence to the new "Project" timeline.
Snip your Sequence to insert the new footage.
        Everything stays in place.

I can't imagine work without Sequences now.

Will your 4:3 DVD be edge-cropped or letterboxed?
If letterboxed, your titles may be okay.
4.51c now has nifty 4:3 guides located in the Application Settings. Worth a look!
