  • Error Disc Creator

    Wow, this is horrible.

A simple task, such as burning a DVD from an HD timeline...I get an error message.

Length is 1hr45min, burning at 8x. Tried 3 different burners (2 internal, one external).

I don't have any Anti-Virus software installed, by the way, as EDIUS hate's that.

Just create the image and import that into Imgburn.

Just tried to produce my first BD in Edius - Burn to Disk.
The re writeable worked but the BD-R didn't.
Tried CBR - again the re writeable worked but not the BD-R.
For some reason I can't select the write speed - it wants to do it
at max speed, which for the BD-R is X4.

DVDs were fine in all my previous projects.
Why does life need to be dificult?

Have you tried with a different DVD disc brand, happen to me once, I was so frustrated I was about to throw away the hole computer, I tried another brand and it worked! Cheers.

When i first installed 6.5 i had problems with Burn to Disc, i had to uninstall Edius and re install and could only be down to a rogue installation. i think you should if it installed properly a X2.4 option

Yeah, I have a few brands here, same for all.

So far these are the issues we've gotten from EDIUS 6.5:

              1. Disc Creator does not work well/is unstable.
              2. EDIUS does not like Anti-Virus (tried 3 different ones). Disc Creator stops burning BD at 83% (Known issue).
              3. EDIUS crashes randomly, even on simple projects.

We had EDIUS 5.51 on the system for a long time, even though it was slower than 6.5 and seemed a bit archaic, it did do it's job properly.

Looks like things haven't really changed, and you have to be a tech wizard to get it working properly.

You don't need much skills for IMGburn at all !
Once you copy the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS files to the IMGburn window it will inform you of any error that is present in the current settings and ask you to solve it for you, just click yes and done.

Perfect burn every time regardless if it is DVD or BluRay, just drag & drop files, click yes to the answer and burn ......

On the website where the software is provided through open source for free are also tutorials and a forum, for a straight burn you don't need either, that shows that good software can be made simple :)

It's just a small addition to your workflow, once mastered (very fast & easy) it becomes 2nd nature before you know it.

Imgburn automatically creates an AUDIO_TS folder, so I never load it, I only load the VIDEO_TS

That is correct ! It will correct anything that is missing.

You still need to edit your own footage ! Well, maybe in the next version :)

Believe me, if it were up to me, I would let him use ImgBurn, however, EDIUS worked fine before (5.51) as far as burning is concerned.

Not only is EDIUS unable to burn properly, but when you have an anti-virus installed, it's even worse. There should be a patch released within the next week or two addressing the DiscCreator issue. How hard is it?

By the way thanks for the help guys, sorry if I'm coming off a bit negative.

If I was the primary editor, I would find a technical solution, but I don't edit anymore and left the business to someone else. Trying to make it as easy as possible for them.
