  • Edius 6.08 crashes a lot

Since we updated from Edius 6.07 to 6.08 Edius crashes very often.
We use a 1440x1080 50i timeline with mixed clips inside, xdcam, canon mov and some hdv clips. what i saw is, when we playback the finished project, after some time (ca. 5 minutes playback time) edius hangs, brings an windows error message and then the whole workstation is freezed (including windows). We never had this problem with 6.07.
During normal editing the maschine runs stable.

Is anyone else having same troubles ?

    thanks for any information.

    ciao

function "auto save" in the (well) 6.07 on the same time as in the (bad) 6.08 ??

or in the new 6.08 upset it is now on the (ugly) default 3 minutes ??

with temporarily disabled "auto save" the same crash scenario ??

At this time auto save is at 15 minutes. At the next project i'll disable it and do some tests again.

        Thx for the tipp.

Why not test with "autosave" set to OFF, I use this setting and press CTRL+S after an intensive edit or when I walk away from my system.

          I never experience hick-ups this way ...................

tried it with autosave to 2 minutes. runs perfect for 45 min (to the end of the video).
so i think autosave wouldn't be problem.

all files ar on internal disk(s) ??
              fom the Intel SATA controller??

I have some Win7 troubles (not only with Edius) with external drives and
internal drives they are not on the plugged Intel SATA controller but plugged on the the (ugly) Marvell-controller from the Asus board
in cause to => they go sleep after a while joblessness

all "antonssetting" are handmade on my PC available.....
