  • HuffYUV Import

    Hi,

I've already searched the forums and read all threads I could find. Some seems to be able to read Huffyuv others don't.

I installed both 32 and 64 bit of the HuffYUV 2.1.1, but Edius will not read. Then I read somewhere edius uses it's own codecs, so in a last effort I tried copying the dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Grass Valley\EDIUS 6.5\drivers.
But thta obviously didn't work, but one can never know.

We're evaluating edius for our editing work but we rely on automaticly generated HuffYUV avi's, where we cannot change much about. Or is there an automated encoder (like ffmpeg/libav) for encoding to lossless Canopus avi?

I'm running Edius 6.5 eval version on windows 7 x64.

Is there anything I can try to make it work, or does it not work on the eval version or something. Any info/pointers would be great!

    Thanks,
    -Johan

Maybe you have conflicts with different codec packs?
'ffdshow tryout' implementation works fine here for HuffYUV decoding.
I also worked with the original HuffYUV codecs. Never got an issue.

      Hi Andreas,

Do you have similar system specs? I read that Edius is not using any windows codecs for either reading or writing, but are you saying Edious uses windows codecs for reading?

      Thanks,
      -Johan

The system spec does no matter. I'm running EDIUS 6.5 on Windows 7 too!
I think there is something wrong in your codec management.
I now that would be the worst case for you, but a clean Windows installation will help at all. :(
But before remove all codec packages.

I did a test with an HuffYUV file & attached a screen shot to the post.
As you can see, EDIUS can use DirectShow codecs for reading!
Otherwise you wouldn't have any chance to read Lagarith or other free codec formats.
