All jokes aside, it almost took a year if i remember correctly after W7 was released when it was supported, will assume more or less the same with W8.
As Edius doesn't benefit from this O.S. update it will be pretty low priority, W7 plays very nice with Edius but it might be compatible after long with W8 when they overhaul Edius and make it truly 64bit :)
As W8 is not released yet there will be no official announcement, after W8 release they still won't reveal their future plans ..............
While waiting maybe plan a dual boot set-up.Tony D.

Hard to imagine a work environment moving to a beta OS, but I'd suspect Edius to catch up eventually.Rusty Rogers | Films

I, for one, will not be in a rush to update to W8.
I don't like the removal of the Start menu and having to pin all the apps to the task bar.Edius 8.53WG, Vistitle 2.8, Windows 10 x64 Pro Fall Update, Asus Z87 Pro, Intel i7-4770K, 16 GB 1600 Corsair Vengence LP RAM, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 256GB, WD Black 2TB media drive, Intel HD 4600 GPU, MSI GTX660 2GB VGA, Coolermaster Silencio 652 case, Noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler, Cakewalk UA-25EX USB audio interface, Cakewalk MA-15D monitor speakers, BM Intensity Pro 4K, PlextorPX-LB950SA BD writer, Dell U2410 Monitor

It seems W8 is aimed at tablets and touchscreen gadgets, as it fits in with the navigation themes and convenience, but Microsoft [in their ultimate goal in making money] ported it for PC use. I don't know anybody who uses a mouse that likes it. I really do think that it's not meant for PC, they just did it anyway.
But who knows, maybe they're trying to faze out the mouse lolAsus Crosshair IV Formula, Phenom 1090T CPU, 16BG RAM, Win7 64, 1TB SSHD Boot, 2x1TB Raid-0 Store, 2TB Print, 1TB print, 250mm fan. Edius 6.07, CS6, Spotify free.
