  • Audio Sync Problems

Edited with Edius 6.51 last night without problem. Tonight tried to continue working on the project and the video lags the audio, and progressively gets worse as the video plays. I have started and restarted Edius, the computer, other video players, etc. No fix. Video files that have been printed during previous work sessions on this project play fine on this computer with VLC media player, WinTV7 and Windows Media Player. The problem only presents itself in Edius preview player. This has happened before and saving the project and restarting Edius or restarting the computer has corrected the problem (in an unpredictable fashion - in other words, I have no idea how I fixed the problem by restarting, rendering, or just letting things cool off, although I do not think I have a temperature problem). Tonight just can't seem to continue with my project. I would love to hear from someone with better knowledge than me, who can help solve this problem. It is most irritating. I have searched the forum for any similar problems and cannot find anything that might help me troubleshoot this problem.

    Thanks for your help!

Are you using .MP3 files for your audio? If so, convert those to .wav and your syncing issue should be solved.

I have a number of audio tracks that I am mixing. One stereo track is AC3, 48kHZ, 16bit and two other stereo tracks are PCM WAV, 48kHZ, 16bit. No mp3 audio used in this project.

If you turn off the AC3 file, do the other 2 stereo track remain in sync. If so, convert the stereo AC3 file to .wav and see if that fixes it.

I'll try that and report back to this thread. Thanks for the suggestion.

NEVER use mp3 or AC3 files for editing. These are lossy formats and sync will vary all the time. Always convert to wav (loss-less format).
