  • Edius 5: How to Display Timecode in Video?

Let me first state that I am less than a complete novice with respect to video editing and related software. A week ago, my employer decided that this was one of my new tasks, and I was given about 90 minutes to learn Edius.

My current crisis is that I need to display the current timecode in the output video, and I simply can't find where/how to put it in there. I just need to save it, so that it displays in the upper left corner of the video. Can anyone walk me through it?

Many thanks, I greatly appreciate any help.

Normally, the timecode will be in the center bottom of the screen. If you want it in a different area as you have indicated, go to Settings>User Settings>Preview>On Screen Display. Click in the colorful arrow box where you want the timecode to be displayed. Then use Steve's instructions for export.

          Still having problems.

Under the Settings pulldown, there is no "User Settings" option in my version. I have:

          Project Settings
          Sequence Settings
          Applications Settings
          Hardware Settings
          Plug In Settings
          Change Profile

Also, as things currently are set, in the Print To option, I have a "Print to Tape (dislay timecode)" but no such option for "Print to file".

          Again, thanks for any suggestions.

            Check under application setting.
You can also check the manual. :)

                  .

in vers. 6.0x it looks quite similar,
but only the listing text from the manual on the left side is a bit different

the manual 6.5 is a other thing, reduced text, no helpful pictures, NO INDEX.....
