6.51 / 6.07

Hello again,

i heard that after installing the edius 6.51,

i could re install edius 6.07 to open old projects,

is it possible, will my station survive to this,

even if i cloned my c: to protect from any crash.

Edius 6.07 will open in 6.51, when open i would save as any name and add 6.51 after it so your 6.07 project will stay intact
However any plugins in 6.07 project will not work in 6.51, they will be replaced by a dummy effect
Vistitle have released 1.86 which works in E6.5 and announced version 2

If you are wanting to run both, 6.07 and 6.51, the easiest way is to have each on a separate hard drive. Not partitions. This way you just change the boot drive in the bios and boot to the version that you need.

Yes Edius 6.5 will open 6.07 projects
I was suggesting you save in 6.5 under a different name that would let you keep your original 6.07 project

thx for your tips but,

i have an ssd, all the software im installing take place in c :
i dont see myself going to boot option,
the process to get both versions might be easier i guess.

It was just an option. 6.51 will open 6.07 projects, except for special filters, effects and options that have not been added to 6.51 as of yet.

At the moment you can open 6.51 projects in 6.07 but as quoted a number of the filters do not come across

my question is can i have on my system, edius 6.51 AND edius 6.07,

both versions of the software,

i know edius 6.51 can open 6.07 projects but without tmp and all filters,
it s a total mess for my work in progress...

Not on the same system but you can have them on separate caddies with their own windows installation
then you can swap
