Does anyone know how to get a .mov file made in FCP from a Mac book pro to my PC desktop? Customer has an external HD via USB or firewire. Will my PC recognize customers HD? The file is 17GB in size and is 1920x1080 and 22 min. in length.
    Thanks,
    Ara

you just need to purchase Macdrive for Windows, this will allow you to connect a Mac formatted drive and copy/paste the file to your local drive, then edit as normal

If you use an external HDD formatted with exFat then you dont need any software to access mac specific partitions on your PC as both mac & PC recognise the exFat file system. If you can get the mov exported from FCP in ProRes you will not have to jump through any other hoops to edit.

I use a copy of Ubuntu on a DVD to boot, then transfer the file's, reboot and off you go. This method may take longer but is free.
