Edius: Rs232 - 422 Deck Control?

Hello there... is it possible to control a deck (betacam, DVCam, DVCPro) using serial remote RS422 port... like COM1 or COM2...

Currently it requires an EDIUS hardware board with RS-422 control, like EDIUS SP.

RS-422 emulation on an RS-232 port requires significant CPU involvement, which can be difficult when the CPUs are busy processing real-time playback.

Never tried it but it should be possible...However whats the point on doing that if you don't have analog inputs?
You can get an Edius SP board to do that (It has RS-422 on it)

I do have analog inputs... i have EDIUS NHX with the expantion kit, and we have severals VTR Betacam SP (players and records), Sony DVCam, Panasonic DVCPro... and of course we also have digitals VTRs with firewire; right now, with the NHX i can do batch capture with betacam using Premiere Pro and RS232-422 converter connected in the COM2 port... that´s why i was trying to find that using edius...
