    Hi Dave,

that's the same behaviour I am seeing with DnxHD stuff.
Just for kicks, open a DnxHD QT movie on the Mac with Quicktime Player 7, go to export. You can choose any codec to export, no problems, but as soon as you choose HQ or HQX you get an imediate crash. Crash reporter tells you the culprit is csehq2.dylib which is part of the HQ/HQX QT bundle.

As far as the artifacts are concerned:
    Here are some test files.

    http://lucertola-media.com/dl/Testfiles.zip

It contains a 2 second Prores HQ source file straight from a Kona3 capture, 2 Quicktime encodes via Compressor from that very file to HQX w and without Alpha (both with heavy artifacts on the text) as well as the corresponding Compressor 4 settings (simply drop them into your Compressor settings window) to encode the source again (HQX, w and without Alpha, standard quality).
I am getting artifacts on all our Macs with these.
I am very curious to hear your findings.
    Test Systems:
Supermicro 2x2.8Ghz Xeon E5-2680v2, Nvidia Titan, Tesla K20c, 64Gb Ram, Win7 64bit, Raid and San Storage.
    HP z800, 2x2.56Ghz Xeon Westmare CPU, Quadro 4000, 48Gb Ram, Win7 64bit, Areca 8040 SAS Raid.

When I stack all three clips on the title with a layouter zoom, I see a difference in the waveform information. That said, on my external monitor, I have a hard time telling the 3 clips apart.

Don't open them in Edius, simply double click them and open them in QT Player. Go to where the text has fully appeared. Make a screenshot if you can.

            Well, that's just plain bizarre.
What I get from the very same file is attached. On a Pc, and on 7 Macs (only two screenshots from the Macs, you get the idea).
            Attached Files

David is doing some more testing. I'm sure when he is finished, he will post his findings. Hang in there.

Did you download and try the file that I posted in this thread. Give it a try and tell me what you get.
After you do that, I will post an alpha 10bit version that plays fine on my PC in Edius 6.5 as well as QT.

Our QA department has found an issue on the Mac side. It took some time to find it because as we have noticed in this thread people are getting different results. So were we.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

The engineers are already working on a fix.

That's good news you managed to reproduce the problem. I was starting to doubt my eyes. Tnx!

Hi, does this also include the Avid DNxHD prob?
