      all looks fine

something must have gone wrong with the EDIUS installation

was antivirus disabled when you did it?

what was the first version you installed and then what update did you install next to get to 4.61?

can you uninstall and start again with the base full version and see if it starts, then apply the correct updates, but first I need to know your base version

No anti virus on this machine. It is used for editing only.
Version 4 upgrade with version 3 serial, then version 4.61.

I don't think you can go from 4 to 4.61

what update did you install before 4.61

I checked, yes you can go from 4 to 4.61

            1. uninstall EDIUS and the Storm driver, reboot
            2. delete all left behind folders in program files and documents and settings
            3. empty hidden temp folder
            4. install version4 and reboot
            5. empty temp folder
            6. install 4.61 update and reboot

            see if it works

I cleaned out the registry, did a clean install of Edius and all of the drivers including the hasp driver and the problem still exists. I even did a restore from a backup I made 2 days ago when Edius still worked. Also here is a screen grab of the license manager. Not sure where to go from here.

what was the reason why you did a re-install in the first place? was something not working?

I have a feeling your dongle is dead, regardless of it lighting up

I did a re-install of the operating system because I had a crash and my backup was corrupt. So I reinstalled all of the programs on that computer. Everything worked fine until yesterday. And again thanks for all of your help.

was the operating system installed on a fresh drive or same drive

if same drive, did you do low level format as part of the installation to really clear everything or a quick format or repair install?

                          The same drive. Quick format.

Here is what I got from Grass Valley this morning.

                          Bob,

The Edius 4.61 has reached End of Service status with Grass Valley and support options are limited or may no longer exist.

Please refer to www.grassvalley.com/products for currently available products.

If you require urgent support on this product, please contact Customer Service to determine what possible support options may still be available.

I will contact Grass Valley later today to see if they will replace the dongle. I think this may be the problem. Even though I have Edius 5 & 6 I still need 4.61 on ths machine for certain conversion projects and use of the DVStorm.

                            Finally Up & Running

Tech. support called and they took over my computer and tried different things to try and get Edius running again. Unfortunately nothing worked and I had to leave for an appointment. Thanks to Tech support for their efforts. They are great.

Out of frustration I re-formatted my hard drive again did a clean install of XP and then Edius. Everything is running fine again. I can only assume there had to be a corrupt file somewhere either in the operating system or Edius. All is working fine now. Thanks to Anton for all of your help.
