  • Looking for a final answer on motherboard

I have been reading everyone's information for several weeks and have decided on building a new computer for 4.5. I have decided on an ASUS motherboard for they have served me well in the past. I would like to find the answer as to which one. I am a little bit confused after searching ASUS site as the one to go with. Would like to add the Express board and use the quad chips, as it seems by reading all your advice it is the way to go. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest looking at a board with at least 2 PCIe x1 slots. I have just brought one with 3 as that will give me a spare with the NX card using both.
If you don't think you will even need a dual graphics card setup (mainly for gaming) then you don't really need to look at boards with two PCIe x16 slots.

I often think compatibility is more down to the chipset on the board. I used to have terrible trouble with Via chipsets.
Generally if you go for Intel look for a board with Intel chipsets, if in doubt mail Tech Support and they will advise if they know of any issues.
