  • Will EDIUS 6.5 support the ACEDVio card?

Will the ACEDVio card work with 6.5? I still rely on this for analog input. Not that I do much of that, but occaisionally it's needed. The ACEDVio 4 pin Firwire line is my capture line for tape based cameras too.

I guess either no-one knows, or the question is too annoying to deserve an answer. I'll just wait and see.

We have a FAQ document up on the forum since 02-29-2012 :

Please Check question 9 in the pdf. Thanks.

I will send this questing to QA to get an a card specif answer for you. But we don't have support for it in windows 7 and EDIUS 6.5 is windows 7 only.

        Steve, so it's not supported???

I mean, the ACEDVIO is just an internal A/D converter which Windows 'sees' as a 1394 device. So no 1394 support at all in 6.5?

I said it is not supported in windows 7.
I don't know where you read that there is no 1394 support there is. :)
There is a difference in "will work" and supported .

I do appreciate your willingness to send the question to QA, thank you. I had of course read the current FAQ more than once. It does not mention the ACEDVio card, but it seems that the ACEDVio is often overlooked. It was never a primary product like Storm for example. The fact that there were answers to a number of 6.5 questions encouraged mr to ask. In fact the ACEDVio runs perfectly under Win 7 64 bit, although "not supported." I do understand that to be an "it-may-or-may-not-work" answer. Got it.

To echo what Steve said, I doubt there will be any official support, but I would suspect that it should be fine since it is basically a "dumb" box.
