  • Is this the usual way to produce a 'Time Warp'

    Edius 6
    1) Place In & Out markers on the timeline say 20 seconds apart.
    2) Pull a clip into the trimmer and adjust length to say 5 seconds
    3) Now click the blue insert button in the trimmer window.
Clip is now inserted on the timeline & stretched to 20 seconds.

    1) Place In & Out markers on the timeline say 1 second apart.
    2) Pull a clip into the trimmer and adjust length to say 5 seconds
    3) Now click the blue insert button in the trimmer window.
Clip is now inserted on the timeline & compressed to 1 second.

Settings Timeline Insert Mode On Ripple On

I've quickly searched the manual but not found the above method.
Works on P8Z68 based pc & toshiba laptop.

New to Edius, come in via Avid 7v2 & Sony Vegas Pro

Edit: The clip in the trimmer must be 'trimmed' for this method to work.

I'm unconvinced there's a "usual way". We usually find a way that's best for the individual user.
Your method works, but I come from the school of 'Alt+E'
I know there are other methods, but I've been doing it so long, it's hard to imagine another.
    "old dog syndrome" I'd suppose.

What you are doing is simply called a 4 point edit or fit to fill. Very easy way to have Edius fill a certain gap regardless of speed..
