  • "Player" window clip is 8X speed

I have moved this topic from another area. (sorry for the repost)

I have just finished a project and am now trying to wrap my head around the new 4.51c Version of Edius Broadcast. I performed the upgrade in the middle of the edit and started having problems. I eked out a final edit and now I am trying to figure out what is wrong.

When I place a clip in the "player" window using the "Dual Mode" setting, the player window plays back at 8X speed and I have no control over it...none.

Now if I change to the "Single Mode" setting, I have normal control. Any Ideas? I guess I could continue to work in the "single" setting, but I'd Like to have an option.

My Sled is a dual core AMD 4200 with 2gb of 4200 DDR2 ram, a 250gb os drive and a 500gb render drive (no raid), 7600gt geforce and on board sound.

    Thanks...

Do both of you guys have AMD systems? Do you get this when you hit the spaceboar or enter? Or with the L button?

Try upgrading to 4.54 (the latest one) and see if that goes away. I have never seen this problem on 3 machines (2 desktops, 1 laptop). One of the machines is even an oldie (but goodie) DVStorm2 with a outdated Pentium 4 and works nicely.

Also there is not much difference between Edius Pro and Broadcast, just the import/export options for some formats such as XDCAM and DVCPRO

I am running the latest 4.54. I have been using edius from its inception in all versions up until now from the begining with the same exact sytem (intel) with no problems. Like stated above if you go to single mode it works fine. But if you use dual mode the preview window has no audio and seems to be running at 8X speed and you have no control over it. I have tried all the overlays etc and can not make it work. Right now single mode is the only way to go. I would love to have dual mode back since that is what I am used to.

Very Strange Trey. I would say uninstall and then reinstall 4.0 and then the 4.54 update and see what happens

Well I uninstalled 4.54 and 4.0 and reinstalled 4.0 and 4.54 and I am still haveing the same problem. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the storm drivers while I was at it. I guess I will deal with single mode for now. It is alsmost as if edius is not swithcing to the play monitor. while it plays 8x with no sound you can hit the space bar and start playing the timeline also...strange....

Trey did you check it with 4.0 before you put on 4.5? If 4.0 is OK, I would try to redownload 4.54 and then try adding that one more time. Or you could just stick with what you have and hope that 4.6 takes care of it?

Pat, I did have 4.0 working great before the 4.5 upgrade. I may try downloading 4.54 again at a later date.

Jim I did that and still same problem. Just to let you all know my C drive died so i had to reinstall my OS and Edius. I still have the same problem with a clean os and clean install. I am just now getting used to working in single mode. Not a hudge deal now that I am getting used to it.

I am at Edius 4.6 now with the same problem.

                        Thanks,
