  • Edius wont batch capture HDV in 6.07 Win 7

Am having a bit of a problems with capturing from Canon HV30 mini-DV HD camera using HDV capture via NX card. It worked flawlessly prior to upgrading to Win 7 and to Edius 6 (from 5).

I have created the device in Tools -> Hardware - Device Preset.
I then had to set the OHCI to use Legacy drivers as per Anton's recommendations. Ihave checked and rechecked and the device seems fine to me.

After doing the above, I now have device control from Edius. I can set an In and Out point, but when I check Capture, the tape goes and quite correctly seeks the start point for capture, but then just sits, paused, on that start point and never actually starts to capture. Eventually, Edius will crash and end.

I have managed to capture, but I must make sure:

    1. I do not set an In point
    2. I do not have the setting where you can name the clip Before capture, set.

I am using NX card with the HD Prview out card. The firewire is plugged into the firewire on the front bay. Drivers are up to date as per 6.06 (tried 6.07 and that didn't do any good, so reverted).

Any help much appreciated. I'm getting a bit desperate here.

    Thanks
    Martin

I don't have a HDV deck to test

so, I assume you add in and out to batch, then you go to batch capture window where you see all in and out in multiple lines, and then you start capture?
