  • Edius 6.07 + Apple Prores 422...

    Good Morning/evening

I just captured an HD file using my MacPro (yes still usable..) and my Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme. The file is Huge about 110GB and want to import it to Edius for some Editing-Titling.
BUT...EDius can not import the file although everything is up to date, and the Quicktime is at its latest version.
There is no player that can playback this file, it is ok only when using the Mac Pro (probably due to the drivers installed during the Installation procedure).

There is only one possibility to make the file "compatible" with Edius...this is to export it from FCPX as an MP4 file...
I dont prefer this "path" cause it takes about five hours to complete the task.
    Other solutions?
WEird....as far as i know the Prores 422 is supported by Edius....

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Blackmagic is usually a V210 codec derivate!
In the past I could see that it was possible to load v210 AVIs (with Blackmagic & Aja codec packages installed) but sadly not MOVs.

          Ok solved !!!
The FILE !!!!!!! is "broken". (i suppose, i dont have any other expalanation).
The Duration of the Captured file was actually 6 hours 25 minutes, but only the 4 hours is possible to playback...beyond that point everything is black w/o sound and the Qtime player stops responding.!!!! Amazing Huh!!!????
I recaptured many different files with Blackmagic, and exported them from Motion 5 as Quicktime files (.mov) using Prores 422, Prores 422HQ, and simple Quicktime DV files.
All files can be easily imported to EDius 6.07.
I did not test with Prores 4444 and i think i am ok with Prores 422.
Of course H264 file was also imported without problems.

          End of Alert !!!
