  • Exporting to wmv - manually set bit rate etc?

    Hi,
I'm using Edius 6.07 and have edited a programme in 1080/25.

I need to export it and my client has requested 1920x1080/25 WMV but at 8Mbps CBR - they need that datarate because of the limitations of their playout system.

The Edius HD WMV exporter in Edius is set at 13.5Mbps VBR and is unlikely to work for my client.

Is there a way to change the data rate etc in the print to file module? I've tried searching the manual and the forums but with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any help (or sarcastic comments because I've missed something blindingly obvious!)

Brian. Have you not tried setting the bitrate manually in the bitrate box?

in the encoding parameters after you have selected to use the windows encoder. You need to actually select it, double click should do, then you can change the parameters.

Look in the right when you have selected Windows media.

Besides the Presets you have WindowsMedia Video if you use that you can create your own presets from scratch.

But as David pointed out you can change the Bit rate in the panel where you type in the filename when using a preset.

            Hi Steve and David,

Thank you both very much for the rapid replies. Thanks to you I have now found the answer. I was looking for data rate options on the first print to file page rather than the second (enter file name) page.

Not bad though - my first week of using Edius after 18 years on other systems and this is the first thing that stumped me!

            Thanks again,
            Brian
