  • what is the verdict on updating to 6.07

Should I just wait for 6.5 or is the 6.07 stable enough for a newbie?

I haven't noticed anything not working in 6.06.

6.07 has a much faster thumbnail draw in the bin, also the timeline waveform draws faster.
If you always have many clips in the bin & long form projects you'll benefit from it (sort of)

Then again, the quirks fom 6.06 are still there so it's not a great update but free.
6.50 will cost you an additional USD 299.

If you decide to install please follow the stallation instructions of NO antivirus etc !

It runs stable on my system

          6.07 working OK here.
I did NOT have anti-virus software enabled on this system for installation, upgrade, or during normal video editing uses.

I will get the upgrade to 6.5 for free because I just bought the upgrade to 6 this month.

That's nice, a well planned upgrade.
For me it's end of the line, i don't intend to use 3D and to replace my NX to run Edius 7 next time is too costly just for a hobby.

The NX is on the list of supported cards in the FAQ PDF. I would wait and see what the final list of features is.
