Canopus and alternative software

Hello dear Canopus users and developers!
I've got Canopus NHX-E1 card with Edius v4.25 software and it works.

But Canopus driver doesn't register itself in system as "capture source" DirecShow filter, therefore no one of alernative programs like Windows Movie Maker can use the card :(

I'd like to know if there are any possibilities to make this card work with other programms than Edius (only capturing).

You can switch the NX card to ADVC mode. Then, the card works as a A/D converter and you can capture with your application of choice.

ADVC mode is a fancy way of saying it will work like a 1394 compliant firewire port....which it becomes in that mode.

Very true but in ADVC mode it should convert analog to DV :)

Also component out always works in ADVC mode, which is great if you want to use other software that supports OHCI. So you don't have to switch connections every time you need firewire out.
