    Dear all

    how to play video in Edius 4 while editting in full screen

    Best Regards

    If you have two monitors you can set the second one for movie play back. Whenever something plays in the overlay window the second monitor will play it back in full screen.

        In fact, it should be also possible to use the same monitor for full-screen playback. Vegas for example can do this (you must extend your monitor onto another one first, but then you can choose any of the two for playing back the overlay full screen). Somehow I can't do this with Edius...

          Many dual-head video cards will not offer overlay in both monitors, you may have to switch some hardware to the one that works.

          If you havn't tried Single Monitor yet, you may want to give it a try. I now only use single because I like the larger view and (because Edius switches so quickly) find the unused monitor silly.

            yes,

            this is one of the most annyoing features of edius, that should have been
            in edius 1. { its been asked repeatedly}

            there should be a hot key / button available for FULL SCREEN { no icons, no toolbars}

            also hot keys to go to any layouts you have created. ( Ie: these could include
            a full preview screen , with tool bar.

            newtek SPEEDEDIT has this perfect. double click the small player window and
            PERFECT FULL SCREEN.

            this feature has been asked before, to my knowledge, but canopus never complies,

              Timeline output to second monitor

              Can you provide some more detail on how to get the Overlay output to the second monitor? By "overlay" I take it that this is the same as the "record preview window"? I have a small LCD TV which I've been re-trying unsuccessfully to use for displaying the recorder/timeline preview. The TV has component (for which I have the GV card installed on PC), composite, S-Video and monitor inputs. I have had this working but have lost the facility and for the life of me can't find how to restore it. I've tried under View, Overlay - setting PC Monitor/External output as well as PC Monitor. Thanks

                I had the exact opposite problem when i started training with a projector.

                I would want the screen to be cloned but it was playing the video in full screen.

                In the advanced settings for your video card there SHOULD be a option for cinematic playback. This tells the video card to use the second playout as a full screen preview rather than extending the desktop or cloning it.

                Enabling this feature should give you what you want :)
