Make sure of the placement of your cursor. It works fine here. Make sure that either the video or the audio is on the same track as the
clip that you wish to close the gap to.

Works fine with 6.06 and now 6.07, make sure every track has a gap.

Mr. Chew you shouldn't use the "B" word until you find out it isn't really the "P" word!

          P stands for Pilot error!

I don't know much about editing but I am learning about how to navigate this forum!

I get this from time to time but have not worked out what causes this

Shift+Alt+Drag is the only thing that works to close the gap in such a case

If all your tracks are synced and there is an audio track that starts before the gap and ends after the gap, the gap will not close. unsync all tracks and try. I never had a gap problem.

that is not the case when it happens to me, I always make sure that no files starts ahead of the clip that needs gap closed

it only happens on rare occasions, when it happens again, I will get to the bottom of it as long no customer sits there and pays for my time

                  There might be another cause...

The clip you are trying to close, might be linked to a 2-3 framed clip at the end of the timeline that has no gap so you can't close the gap where you want to.

These clips can happen while moving clips around in the wrong mode, and a clip gets split at the last few frames and gets put at the end of the timeline.

Make sure this is not the case.

If anything happens to me while clients are watching I always use 'safe as' and amend with an extra character, this way I can go back to the issue anytime when alone.
