right click dissolve, duration, set to half sec for video and audio

then use Ctrl+P as shortcut to add transition between 2 clips, now it will be half sec

you can also drag any transition to the clips and it will be half sec

Ctrl+P (default) can be changed to Alt+0 if you like and cane be any duration that is preset by you

Ctrl P is same as alt 1 ... it is 1 second mix ( not halft second )

Ctrl+P can be set to anything, I have set mine to 20 frames

you must right click default transition in effects panel and change the duration of 3 items if you wish, video, audio, title

You can also open any effect in the effect window, and change the duration for transitions, cross fades and title mix, to anything you want, but will still be able to use Alt +1, 2, 3, or whatever to add that duration, but the default will be whatever you set it to...I have mine set to 12 frames...kind of quick...I prefer that than a straight cut....sometimes i use 5 frames...less stressful on the eyes .......... 4 me that is

yes, change the shortcut from Ctrl+P to Alt+0

in my case, CTRL+P is always what I want it to be

today, I needed it to be 12 frames, so I preset it to 12 frames

tomorrow, I start a new project and I need it to be 20 frames

have you tried presetting it with right click as I mentioned?
