  • [Edius 6] Exposure control

    Hi all,

I'm a noob and I've been using exposure filter on Premiere and Vegas and also on MB.
I see that Edius lacks this filter but of course exposure changing (not simply brightness) could be achieved with other base filters.

How I could obtain exposure changing with the Edius base filters?

    Thank you in advance

Yes I watched that tutorials but I'm asking something more precise: exposure control.

Don't get stuck on a name.
Matt clearly showed how to achieve stuff with the YUV filter and some with a combination. Most likely you want to start with a curve .

You can also use the color balance filter.
          Look at the examples .
I dropped a clip with Magic bullet looks exposure and one with the color balance filter

Also if you have Magic bullet looks it plugs-in to EDIUS via the AE bridge. Then you can use a tool you are comfortable with.

You could also try using blend modes combined with a YUV curve :) See the keying tutorials for a bit more clarity on that. The tools are there..."exposure" filters don't change the exposure at all, they are lifting brightness, contrast and color to achieve a perceived exposure change. This of course can be done manually a number of ways like people have mentioned here. I would try the "Addition" blend mode and a YUV curve to controll what is being blended.
When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.

              Thank you all,

I'll give a try with the different methods proposed.

              PS
BTW browsing the various tutorial on the sticky thread I noticed that the last post with EDIUS secrets by David Clarke (free) doesn't work anymore.
