Mapping selected mono tracks to stereo channels in Edius 6

I am editing in a HD project into a sequence where the majority of clips are stereo. In channel mapping the A1-A4 are stereo.

Source clips recorded drop down correctly into the timeline in stereo. A3 & A4are for stereo music. Several source clips have been recorded mono. I will be adding an A5 & A6 for stereo effects.

Is there a way to map the mono source clips to both A1 & A2 or A5 & A6 on a clip by clip basis?

This would apply to the few mono source sync sound clips and to several SFX audio clips that are mono.

The the clip properties correctly flag the clips as monaural and you drop them on a stereo track, they will automatically play back stereo.

I did check out clip properties for the mono, and, oddly, the stereo/monaural buttons are all greyed out.
