Thanks Zorro I totally agree with you that's way what I tried to say to Jerry, but as you know those people trying to blame customers, Gv must take this kind responsibility not customers. When they changes updates must be test before publish to customers.MICHAEL

I too have no AV on my editing PC, backed up and set system restore before update and the update was very fast. It just disabled a feature I wanted that took longer to get working again than the update !!!

There are too many hardware / software combinations to check for these kinds of issues.
If one is able to build a system one should be able to trouble shoot.
Then there is this wonderful forum with many suggestions already in the first few hours.
If with the help from the forum issues can't be solved there are always system integrators to be able to help (for a fee)
Many of us have a wildly varying system yet it works on almost all, that I find remarkable compared to a closed system from competitors that also have their hickups.Tony D.

Beyond that I find the post factually incorrect and unnecessarily pompous. There is no correlation between being able to build a computer and being able to troubleshoot this sort of problem. The dismissive "for a fee" with the implied "not that someone as knowledgeable as I would ever do so" is not necessary either.
Forums are places where people with less experience ask questions which are answered by people with more. Posts which simply put down the less knowledgeable person serve nobody. Could we not be more understanding and less judgmental? Oh and it's either "hiccups" or "hiccoughs" depending on your location and preference. (and of course that last sentence was unnecessary also so I apologise in advance).Last edited by Philip Howells; 04-08-2012, 02:27 PM.Edius 6.52; i2500K; Gigabyte Z68P-DS3; 8Gb RAM; 124Gb SSD for system, 5x1Tb HDD on board; 1Tb & 500Gb HDD off-board; 2Tb RAID1 out-board; BCF2000; Shuttle Pro2; Radeon 5 series dual display, HD Spark, HD monitor. However your line:
-specific, it would help if they flagged that possibility. That way we lesser mortals can be more cautious or circumspect about applying it.* Here is the link to that exact warning: http://cdn1.grassvalley.com/unsecure...s_Apr_2012.pdf
This update runs quite well on systems that do not run antivirus(this should be the norm on an editing system anyway) and the Z68 chipset for quick sync.
The first issue of running an antivirus was addressed in the readme files. If you didn't read these, you missed the point of having a read me file.
The second issue is that the loader does not include the intel quick sync driver. This was similar to an earlier update.
To fix both of these issues all you have to do is:
1. Disable your antivirus or Zone Alarm and install your update. Many posts have been written on how to do this on different antivirus programs
2. Reinstall your current quick sync driver or update to the newest.
I would try the current driver that you had installed before updating
These are pretty simple work arounds. You asked for help. There is the help.
GV knows that that there is an issue with the loader on certain setups.
What more is there to say.Last edited by Jerry; 04-08-2012, 02:43 PM.Jerry
