Edius 6 2d disolve - having problems

Trying to control the length of the fade out in the timeline . When i do this using 2d dissolve, edius 6 goes into timeout and crashes (shuts down).

It all works well when i create a new sequence or project. Its only happening in the existing sequence. Is there a hidden button which allows me to over ride and control my 2D dissolve ( fading out).

right click the dissolve in the effects folder and set duration for any of 3 items such as video, audio, title

how were you trying to change the duration prior to crash?

which version EDIUS6? 6.06 is latest free update
