  • Using a PMW-EX30 Deck with Edius

    I am trying to use a PMW-EX30 Deck as a video pass through into Edius, does anyone have an idea on how to get this to work? or if it is possible.

    I am currently taking video in HD-SDI and trying to record straight into edius 6
    using a firewire.

    I got this to work using our older XDcam deck, but am having trouble with the newer PMW-EX30.

    Thanks in advance for your help

    Have you created a DV or HDV input preset?
    1394 will only accept these formats.

      I went into the system settings and created a device preset, that is the only way I know how to set it up. Maybe I am missing a step.

      I set it up for Generic HDV with an input of 1920x1080 59.9i which is the quality of video going into the deck.

      I am concerned that the highest output i can get is 1220x1080 59.9i I think. Would that be messing with not getting a picture.

        HDV is 1440x1080!
        Be sure your deck is set to output accordingly.
