  • Saving Project file separate to media

I want to save my project file, auto save/backups and media all in different locations. I know that I can save my auto save/backups folder separately by using User Settings within Edius (6.06) but is it possible to separate the project file from the media (incl Titles/Renders folders) without having to manually copy the project file to another location first? And once separated, are there any issues with where I send any digitised media or media files? Thanks.

Why not set up all media & data in one folder & sub folder according to projects and use a software like always sync to copy selected folders to designated storage.

This one comes up a lot with users coming from another platform.

Tony is on the right track for sure.
Although putting all your files in one folder sounds like a dangerous prospect as data loss may occur with a simple drive failure, there's a simple workflow that makes the risk quite minimal.
I backup projects twice daily, knowing I'll lose a half-day's work at most.

The downside of spreading files around to different drives exposes your data to multiple drive failures and a considerably greater risk not to mention the difficulty of moving a project to another PC.
