New to EDIUS - not new to editing - where is the razor tool?

Hi gang, i just grabbed the beta/trail for the new EDIUS software because it has 3D support and i have to learn this software.

I've been editing on FCP/Premiere for over 10 years and as you guys know, switching is not the most easiest thing to do.

i've been looking for some tutorials on this and i'm either looking in the wrong places or not looking hard enough. So please feel free to link me to some basics ones so i dont have to bug everyone here.

First things first, where is the razor tool or something that i can make a cut in my time line? i cant seem to find it anywhere or how to do a simple cut.

Place your cursor where you want the clip and type C. A razor type tool is toooo slow.

C = cut
N = trim clip in front of cursor
M = trim clip at rear of cursor
Alt+N = trim clip in front of cursor and close gap
Alt+M = trim clip at rear of cursor and close gap

adlerfloyd You will fined Edius fairly eazy to crossover , it should take you a day or two at the most, Antons web site is also a great resource, I came from a Avid and Adobe Pro background to Edius Pro, I started like many from the start till now and like it a lot, it has many strengths and some quirky things, but overal fit in with my work flow very nicely and run the complete CS5 production suit on the system.

Oh man, the ol' Premiere razor blade tool. Never could get used to having to "become" each individual tool before doing any action. For some reason with me it's fine with Photoshop and seems logical and intuitive, but with video editing its just such a nuisance. All depends on what you learn with initially I guess. But Edius is so much faster in many ways, you'll be happy once you get past the learning curve (which isn't all that big actually).

anyone notice a bug in the edius beta that will not allow you to go into ADVANCED settings for when you try to export a clip. My advanced setting tab is blocked, is that because its a beta or a bug? This way i cant export different size file etc. No big deal as i can use a 3rd party encoder etc...just curious

There is no beta of EDIUS 6 out. If you are posting about the EDIUS 3D fpreview please use the correct forum.
