  • Edius crashes with certain AVI files

Hi All. I shoot with a GH2 and I shot a video in MOV format.
MOV files created by the camera can be put on the Edius timeline with no problem.

However I actually shoot these MOV videos at 2fps and speed them up to create timelapses using this nice little program http://timelapser.net/about/
    which creates AVI files

If I put even a single one of these sped up AVI videos Edius crashes.

I used to successfully put these on the timeline/bin with no problems.
    This

I then upgraded to 6.06 and it still crashes.

I'm attaching one of the offending files.

They're actually not that big but have been causing me to crash 100% of the time!
    Help!

your file works fine here, no crash

mediainfo reports that it uses directshow MJPEG codec at 215mbits/sec

does the software have other codec options?

can you play other directshow MJPEG files?

also, could you use EDIUS to load the 2fps file from GH2 and then modify the speed in EDIUS to give the same result?

You can download the MATROX MJPEG codec for free from MATROX support site!
Otherwise ffdshow tryout codec package solves most codec issues!
      Maybe this could help?

Looks like an issue with davinci resolve lite installation.

I removed the da vinci resolve lite 8.2, nvidia cuda toolkit 4.0.17, Visual c++ 2010 Reditributable, and the Black Magic Design Desktop Video 8.6.10

        Now Edius does not crash.

This sucks. I was looking forward to using the Da Vinci Resolve Lite for color correction...

At least I can edit again.

Chances are this will get sorted out and it will work with Edius in due time :)

Note, you need a nVidia card, it doesn't work with ATI.
