  • Lay out tool question in 4.5

I have a project that was shot in HDV 16x9. The final priduct will be 4X3 SD.
I used the layout tool one clip at a time to change the aspect ratio to 4x3 by clicking on fit height. Of all the clips I have one that somehow I messed up the aspect ratio. All the other clips on the time line are 100 1440
and 44 479. This clip has a different reading. How do I change it so that it reads the same as the other clips? I can't seem to get the aspect ratio correct no matter what I do.

I know this is a dumb question but I have had it to occur before just on one of all the clips in a 2 hour project. Some how when changing it from 16x9 to 4x3 it gets changed and I cannot change it back.

    Thanks

Is there a Tutorial on the lay out tool somewhere?

I know you guys are really busy. However, Edius training should have top priority. Many of us actually use Edius to make a living. My problem is that I am so busy trying to keep up with the week to week editing deadlines that I do not have time to experiment and look for a work around or fight glitches in new upgrades. Please don't view this post as a slap at GV. I am just frustrated and beat down.

Have you try clicking on "default' to get it back to the original size?

        Layout in a nutshell...
        Left side's cropping.
        Right side's scaling and positioning.

Cropping doesn't change the video aspect ratio.
Scaling can, if the "Fix aspect" option is not enabled.
You can also disable "Fix aspect" to compensate for aspect flag problems, like not having a clip flagged 16:9 when shot with an anamorphic lens.
