Working with shape in mask filter

Still trying to adjust to the new mask filter which replaced the region filter.
I have a square as the shape set as the mask but I want to bring in one of the sides (to make the box effectively taller) and it seems that when I try and do that the whole aspect ratio of the shape changes along with it. With the old region filter if you dragged in a side, it would only drag in the side and not change the rest of the shape. I tried pressing control, alt etc with no luck.

What if you deselect the fix aspect ratio button?

I did watch the tutorials and did not find one that went into depth about this issue. If there is such a tutorial, please direct me to it!
Can you tell me where I can find that aspect ratio button? I cant seem to locate it.
