Just found out that having many audio track with displayed waveforms makes Edius basically unusable. Timeline is so slow for zooming in/out- very poor.

Are you referring to the endless re-drawing of the wave form, track by track ?
If you have a long project of a 1+ hour with a 1000 or more clips on it, the zooming in version 5 is indeed much better, hence my second system is still used for long form projects.
If the engineers would create wave forms in nested sequence it would really help.Tony D.

How has these files been created?
Which codec/container has been used?
Will this happens all the time with all files type?
How is it with HQ files containing audio?Andreas Gumm

These are all wav files- nothing special. Vide is HQ file without any audio.
I think I know what is the problem- its all read through gigabit (just realised that this is the case), so there is reading delay of 1 video+ 8 audio file+waveform cache files. It works way better once waveform display is off- it makes sense.
Just forgotten that I'm using project, which is on different PC.
Lets see how it works locally :)
