  • Edius 6: audio problems on the first 2 minutes only. help!

Hi, I use Edius 6.05 and I'm working on a AVCHD project (35 minutes). When I watch the film on timeline, at beginning (the first 2 minutes only) I have some audio problems. The music and the narrator voice have low frequence (boost bass). I cannot turn up the volume because I notice a little rumble. If I move those clips with music and the narrator voice a bit further on timeline (2 munutes), that problem disappear and I listen to everything very fine. At beginning I also have to put a long black clip (at least 2 minutes) and every problem disappear.
Why do I have that problem?
    THANKS

PS. I listen to TV too that audio problem.

There are "Canopus HQX" clips but worse problem is with narration voice, it is WAV files L and R (on two tracks).
It is not the first time I have this problem. I solve it putting 3 minutes black clip on VA track.
But I'd like to understand because I have this problem.

        To recap.

        1. On the first couple minutes of the timeline the audio has unwanted bass boost.

        2. The boost is in the time line, not on the clip, because if the clip is moved to alter onthe time line the boost is gone.

        3. If the first few minutes of the time line is a blank (black) clip the problem does not happen.

        Questions:
Does this happen to every audio clip placed on the first couple minutes, or only some clips?
Does it happen with all audio tracks, or only some?
Does the project IN/OUT point make a difference?
Does it make a difference where you start the playback (e.g., always the first couple minutes of playback).
Does it happen to clips in the preview and not on the timeline?
If you export the timeline audio (print to file) is the base boost in the exported file (try play it on a different audio system to verify it is in the file and not the system).

Yes everything is right. But on the 3° question I have to explain better. If I move the audio clip (voice) ahead on timeline (with or without putting black or blank clip), that audio works fine.

          I don't know precisely

          Always

I don't understand what you mean precisely. I can tell you that at beginning I get a bad sound (narrator voice) and at the end I get a good sound (narrator voice).

          Sure!

They are perfect clips, no problem with audio.

When I export from timeline (print to file) the film plays with the same problem.

Have you try creating a fresh project and just import that sequence to the new project? if it works then could be something corrupting your current project.

I prefer to leave the original project. When I will make a different project I will try your advice. Thanks

What happens if, as a test, you create a new project and import just a few of the same clips of interest - do you still have the audio problem?

Today I have noticed my problem is another. My problem is PAN on audio track. The blue line was down "-10" on oe track and on the other one was "+30" . It was my problem. But I don't know because I get this problem. In fact at the beginning I had given a quick going-over on that audio clip. At the beginning of the project it was perfect but subsequently and automatically the PAN blue line went down on the first two-three minutes.
Often I get this problem. mmmmm

did your project start in EDIUS6 or 6.01 or 6.02? if so, the pan line would often be detroyed by using undo, it was a bug

Thanks for you precious news. I started my project in Edius 6.02. I hope I will not get problems with Edius 6.05.
                      Thanks once again.

this problem was fixed in 6.03 and like you, it was driving me nuts until I figured out the cause and reported it
