  • can you 'Pan' in edius?

OK, I may have not asked the correct way but here's what I'd like to know.

If I have 1920X1080 footage and I set it to 1280X720 can I 'pan' left and right up/down of the unseen portion?
Someone mentioned that it can be done with other softwares....

Hey, thanks for any ifo on this.

Use the layouter, zoom in some then keyframe i.e. beginning to left and end clip to right, there you have, a software pan, no other software needed :)

In ver. 5.5 you can also use 3D PnP.
Fiddle with the scale and position parameters for pan and scan.
You can also fake, to a certain degree, false perspectives in certain shots when you combine this with rotate.

While it is a worthwhile upgrade, for panning the layouter in E5 works just as fine.
As for the 3D pip sugestion (skewing & perspective), yes, in E6 most features are build in the layouter now.
