Editing multi-cam and color balance

I just started using Edius 3 and I'm trying to edit a 3 camera shoot.
I place PIP on 2 clips so I can view all 3 cams on my NTSC monitor. Then I place color correction filter on the clips in order to further match all 3 as closely as possible. But this is difficult to do in Edius 3 because when I bring up color correction dialog box it only shows the selected clip FULL SCREEN on my NTSC monitor. I would like to see all 3 clips simultaneously to make it easier to match them.

Any way to see them other than full screen?

Upgrade to Edius 4 and you will have multicam :)

Also you can color balance each camera separately then condense all tracks into one when you're done.

But just to be clear, with Edius 4 can you see all the cams DURING the actual process of color correcting (i.e. while the color corection filter dialog box is open)?

Also, regarding multi-cam feature, I trialled Edius 4 and liked the multi-cam feature but wasn't sure how to use transitions other than straight cuts. In wedding ceremony videos, I often need to use dissolves between clips and not just all cuts. Can this be done in a practical manner using multi-cam and Edius 4?
If the answer to all above is yes, I will purchase the upgrade immediately.

Well yes you can see all cameras at the same time and play with CC, but the preview is a bit blocky (for simulatenous playback purposes) so I would recommend that you use the "grab frame" feature in the White Balance window to see previous cams and color correct....or do it with eye measurement.

Once you are done with the "cutlist" you use the "Compress to a single track" button to compress all cuts into a single track. Now all your cuts will be on a single track and you will be able to add any transitions you want in the middle :)

Play with the demo to see how you're liking it. I do CC all the time, but I use eye measurements which are good enough for me.

SD, I think you've missed the point here...

BillShedoudy wants to view and compare multiple tracks while making color correction adjustments. (Sounds like another awesome feature request to me!) Why not ask for multiple vector scopes to go with them?

Unfortunately, Edius will only do the cuts without showing effects. Maybe in the day we all run quad-core Linux on our wristwatches.

I understood the OP's intent...there is a workaround for that, and it's to have all sources available at the same time and color correct, although the preview is blocky...I'd do as the OP does with multiple PinP's, correct it, then save the filters as custom filters and then use the Multicam feature in v4 to setup the cameras like the way you want it. Cut it up, then drop your custom filter on top of the tracks.

Using "grab frame" as STORMDAVE said in the white balance filter is the way to do, just match 2 camera first then the third, if you are going to match color you will need full frame resolution output to match correctly.
Go to GV tutorial page and I think they have a tutorial on white balance of how to match 2 camera automatic.
