  • Retaining individual clips after setting to a sequence.

I would like to keep individual clips in my bin after I highlight them all and set to a sequence. Is there a setting to retain the clips and set to a sequence?

    Hi Aethan,

Good to see a KARE guy here! Yes you can. Simply select all of the clips you want to set as sequence sand rt clk and copy them, then past them in the Bin and then rt clk those copied clips and Set as Sequence

Not sure I understand this issue as described. You can use the clips in a bin in any number of sequences within the same project as a common resource.

If you select all and make a sequence you can open a new sequence and do it all again in different order or combination. Its the value of using sequences to make different versions from the same resource without having to start a new project.

Have I misunderstood the question ?

Could you give more information as I am a little unclear about the question as well. Just a guess but if you double click the new sequence in the bin you will be able to get to the orginal clips, alter them and they will update in the sequence as well. Is that close?

Guys he want to have a group of clips in the Bin Set as Sequence so they show as one clip. And then he also wants to be able to see them as individual clips. There are some advantages to do this for Broadcast. See my updated answer above.

OK, I understand now. With copy and paste he could put them in a new bin too called clips.

I use a bin for each of my sources and leave as clips, audio or graphics but always edit with the master bin selected so all sequences are in this master bin.

They are editing for Broadcast, so their workflow will be different then what you are describing
