  • Edius Grass Cutters Course

    Hi guys,

I just attended a "GCC" in Melbourne this week and thought I'd let you know what a great experience it was. The course ran over three days and followed a structured curriculum with an accompanying Edius Prime course book. The course included use of the program with useful practical exercises involving supplied video assets.

You may think you know a lot about editing with Edius, but when you attend one of these courses you realise how much more there is to know. I don't know how many times I had an "aha" moment when I found out some "new" feature I could really use. The course is also very helpful for those moving from Edius 5 to 6 as it covers important changes to the program.

My course was run by Matt Scott who was very enthusiastic and helped us get so much out of it. I believe there is another course being run in Sydney soon for those that may be interested. It is definitely something I recommend if you can find the time.

    Jim

    Grasscutters in U.S.?

Are there any grasscutters courses offered in the U.S.? Or is it possible to get the course book?
I had sent an email to [email protected]
on Sept 2, 2011 and it came back as undeliverable
    Is there an updated website?

I've been clamoring about this for months!
Not only does no one return email messages, but now the address is dead!

        Hi Rusty

It's not supposed to be dead - that may have been a casualty of some changes made to our email system recently. I will look into that.

We are looking at ways of making this programme available in the US. I know we've been saying that for a while now, but we hope to be able to put something together before the end of the year and we will keep you posted.

Perhaps Grass Valley can partner with entities like The Woodstock Film Festival/Hudson Valley Film Commission to offer workshops as part of their seminars...The Festival starts its 2011 edition this week, but they have programs throughout the year..seems like these independent festivals would be a good place for "indie producers" to be made aware of Edius...I still get stares from other filmmakers when I say i use Edius...:-)

I'd be interested in a course in NY/New England area.

I am always discovering new things in Edius and love it when I do. I'd love it if you can share some of the "ahh" moments with us here on the forum. I'm sure those (like myself) who are from other Countries and who won't have these courses available, would love to hear them and learn from them.
