By all means, suggest it in the appropriate forum - if it hasn't been already.

It might be an "obvious" and "simple" and "standard" choice for you as an individual...but there's a lot of other people who may not follow this path.
That sounds like a strong argument for making the default colour(s) user selectable in project preferences.

Yes I understand that. What I am saying is that if you chose to stick with the default colour, it should at least be the same for clips in the bin and clips on the timeline.

I went into the Bin, highlighted all the clips, did a right click, and selected clip colour and then set it for all the clips in one go.

Is that what you wanted to do?

Choice of colours apart, I do find it annoying that the default colour of a clip in the bin (grey) is not the same as that of the same clip on the timeline (yellow). In other words, you are forced to change from the default for every clip if the colours are to make any sense.

How to change clip colours in Edius 4.5

    I did a little testing...

Once the clip is on the timeline you have to alter each clip one at a time, Properties>Clip Color>Select Colour

    BUT:

When you start a new project, you Add files to the Project Window and through the properties window change the colour for the entire clip BEFORE using it. As you place subclips onto the timeline, then they will retain whatever colour you gave them in the Project Window. Now that is a good feature,eg one long capture could be split up into separate subclips and given separate colours, so it would be easy to tell where one lot of footage starts and ends on the timline when you are zoomed right out.

Now that I don't have to put up with those awful greens I will happily go on my way....

Would still like to be able to select from a more subtle palate though.
