  • Basic editing question...

    Sorry this is basic but the manual doesn't seem to make it very clear:
    If you apply a filter to a clip, then join it to another clip with a transition, the filter gets applied to that too. How can I stop that happening?

    filters only apply to clips, so what you are saying is impossible, unless you meant keyers?

    if you meant keyers, then there is a simple way to avoid that by using AB editing

      Thanks Anton, yes keyers it is. Is it therefore impossible to go from a, say PIP - I used the 3d PIP keyer to make the picture stay half size centre screen as the background to a title, with a white border - to a full screen clip via a transition ? That used to be possible in Edition.

        doing it by same track transition is impossible

        doing it with AB style is very easy and I do this daily, you have 900% more control over everything as compared to same track stuff

        once you like AB, you will be happier than a lotto winner
