Hi, i've shot with a Canon XL2, and recorded on a Focus FS-100 Portable DTE Recorder, 16:9, 50i, lower field. I have transferred the files into my computer. Settings are shown like in the picture bellow(Edius 6.02). I have analyzed the files with GSpot, and it shows that the clips are 16:9. I don't understand why Edius convert the clips to 3:4 when i bring them in Bin. Or, maybe i have to do some settings? I have tested with PPro and Vegas, and they both import my files in 16:9 without any problem. Thanks.

Can you upload a sample so we can have a look?
You can change the aspect for the clips by going to the bin
set view to detail text mode
Make sure the aspect ratio is displayed.
Select the first clip
Shift select the last
Click on the triangle in triangle you see in aspect
put aspect to 16:9
All the clip will have a 16:9 aspect.
I also would advice to update to 6.03 because we have had some fixes.

also, your project setting seems strange for DV, does it really have 8 audio channels embedded?Anton Strauss

Thank you.
proper DV is stereo 16bit 48k 2 channel
consumer DV preset also often is 12bit 32k 4 channel (avoid this one)
also, you are using 24bit audio (EDIUS should not allow this under a DV preset), DV is 16bit
see attached correct Pal DV preset

We had a lot of request of "format free presets" so I don't think we will limit the choice again.
There are people who use a dv video size but require more then dv spec channels because they send it to an audio app for sweetening and then they export back to 2 channels if there is need to export to legal spec. This was a forum request.....Last edited by GrassValley_SL; 09-14-2011, 03:06 AM.

I understand
however, when choosing a DV preset in the dropdown, it should default to the DV spec, but it does not
currently, the only way to get it to DV spec is by using the WizardAnton Strauss

Which is why we have the wizard. If you don't know in the outs use the wizard.
As soon as you are in the advanced settings you take responsibility for the configuration.
That's where the Free format is. The drop down in the advanced section is just an easy frame size selection not an "in spec wizard".Last edited by GrassValley_SL; 09-14-2011, 03:17 AM.
